PERSONAL STATEMENT

I bring a highly productive, success attitude and my passion lies in driving results and finding viable solutions.

I am a late bloomer to the education field but I’m just as passionate about children and their success.  I most recently worked as a general manager and preschool art instructor.  As a general manager, I performed a wide variety of tasks.  I directly managed the sales process, solicited and enrolled prospective families, conducted marketing research, and implemented marketing initiatives.  Additionally, as a preschool art instructor, I created age appropriate lesson plans and guided children through creative projects.

Working guest services at a high profile establishment, I noted the need to include more child-oriented programming as a way to increase traffic.  I took the initiative to work with the education department and started a program called “Family First” which continues today.  Family First is an interactive multi-generational program that brings the exhibits on display to life for children and their families.  In addition, I worked with various ages, nationalities, and abilities on admission requests and provided educational tours of the biannual art exhibits.  Among my tour participants were schools from preschool to high school, congressional representatives, and persons with intellectual disabilities.  After receiving a promotion to Lead Guest Services Associate, I managed a volunteer team of 150 people and not only learned but also mastered a new ticketing system to provide exceptional customer service.  Thorough knowledge of the Center, its history and the exhibits as well as being process driven and efficient led to many satisfied customers.

I would love to be a part of a forward-thinking educational system and thrive on the knowledge that future generations will be affected by my work today.
